We've outgrown VUSNAPS and have renamed the study "The LGBTQ+ Social Networks, Aging, and Policy Study," or Q SNAPS. We are currently applying for funding to extend the study and recruit more people. Look out for more studies associated with Q SNAPS in your inbox.
Cognitive Games is a new extension of Q SNAPS that will help up better capture changes in memory as you age. This is a collaboration with Test My Brain, a non-profit research organization committed to brain health. You can learn more about Cognitive Games here!
Some participants have contacted us over the past year with questions or concerns related to Vanderbilt University Medical Center's decision to share patient records from the gender clinic with the Tennessee State Attorney General's Office. We support and echo these concerns.
As a federally funded study, Q SNAPS is protected by an NIH Certificate of Confidentiality. Certificates of Confidentiality (Certificate or CoC) protect the privacy of research participants by prohibiting disclosure of identifiable, sensitive research information to anyone not connected to the research. Importantly, a Certificate of Confidentiality also protects the information you share with a research study from being subpoenaed. If you have additional questions or concerns about your data, please be in touch by email or phone. Our team would be happy to discuss any concerns.
We're working with some of the best researchers on LGBTQ+ aging across the country to bring you additional opportunities to participate in research for us by us! There are several upcoming studies related to caregiving that you may be eligible for. These studies are not affiliated with Q SNAPS so please contact them directly.
